Today, we move from Judea to Samaria. As we continue meditating on being fruitful and being a witness, Samaria represents our neighbors and the people around us with different beliefs.
First, God taught us to be fruitful in our own lives. Then, He led us to intercede and be fruitful within our family and close relationships. Now, God’s given Great Commission is to reach our neighbors, not as a task or ministry activity, but as a lifestyle, where our daily walk reflects the fruitful life that He has formed within us
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
Samaria reminds us that the people around us may think differently, believe differently, or live in a different way than we do. They may not understand our faith, and sometimes they may even misunderstand us. God does not ask us to argue with them or try to force them to agree. Instead, He asks us to show the fruit He has grown in our lives. When our neighbors see the character of Christ in how we live, they begin to feel and experience the fruit we carry.
We do not need a special ministry calling to reach our neighbors, and we should not excuse ourselves by saying we are not called for that or having some other calling. Just as a tree is expected to bear fruit in its season (either good fruit or bad fruit; it cannot remain barren), a life rooted in Christ is expected to produce fruit. If we say we are in Christ, that fruit should be seen by the people around us. Our neighbors should be able to taste that fruit through our words, our behavior, and our daily life. This is how our witness becomes real and natural.
"Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit."" – Matthew 7:17
Let us pray, Father God, thank You for choosing me and planting my life in Christ. Thank You for the fruit You are growing in me through Your Spirit. I acknowledge that this fruit is not only for me, but for the people around me. Help me to live my faith naturally, through my daily walk, my words, and my actions. Teach me to love my neighbors with Your heart and to reflect the character of Jesus in every situation.
Lord, I confess that many times I limit Your work by thinking I need a special calling or position. Today, I surrender that thinking. I accept that if I am rooted in Christ, my life must bear fruit. Let my neighbors and colleagues see that fruit clearly through my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s take a action by naming 7 neighbor or colleague families who have not yet received Christ as their Savior, and pray for them for three days, asking God to bring them to salvation.”
“Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends…. “ Luke 16:9 (NLT)
Don’t stop with just praying for them. Take time to meet each one, understand their needs, and let the Holy Spirit guide you to do something that shows the fruit of Christ in your life.
